Studio

junco studios is a native-focused landscape design & install firm based in Albemarle County, Virginia. We create cohesive, site-specific gardens and restorations that aim to inspire play, reciprocity, and connection between people, land, and water.

All of our installations are grounded in ecological stewardship and sense of place. Our design is defined by its commitment to environmental health, whether that means creating small-scale, historically-informed grasslands, or finding creative approaches to address water management and quality concerns. Our work ultimately serves the client’s needs, as well as the needs of our non-human community members, through our thoughtful and joyful approach. Our ultimate goal is to inspire all beings to spend more time existing in, and paying attention to, the land and community that surrounds them.

We specialize in native design and installation, rain gardens, small-scale trail and path design, and also provide maintenance of gardens and containers. junco’s founders are Anna Morse and Emma Stephens.
